いちばん泣けた作品‥『アントキノイノチ』「喪失と再生」というテーマは、映画のネタとしては誠に格好のものらしく、これまでも幾多の作品で取り上げられてきたが、本作もそんな1本です。
遺品整理業という職業は私も書籍などで知っていたが、何らかの原因で亡くなった人の部屋を遺族に代わって片付ける仕事で当然その部屋には死にまつわる様々なドラマが生まれます。
本作は心を閉ざしてしまった若者の再生を、そんな遺品整理の現場と、ピュアな恋愛エピソードを絡めて描いた物語だが、それだけに非常に人の死を身近に意識させる作品に仕上がっている点が異色です。
この物語の切り口は、やはり人間の死にまつわる職業である納棺師を描いた『おくりびと』と共通するものであるが人間の死の門出を軽妙な笑いの中に描いたおくりびとと比較すると本作で描かれる死は厳しく、そして重いです。
