At this year's Japan Day @ Central Park, we are creating a New York version of the hit Japanese music video "Fortune Cookie in Love." This song came out last August in Japan, and it has sparked a national phenomenon where people film their own versions of the song and post the videos to YouTube. Companies, towns, and even large cities have made cover videos to this song. The song's popularity is still spreading: People in other countries like England, Australia, and Singapore have filmed their own covers.
To join this global trend, we want to create a New York version of this video, in the hopes to accomplish our missions of facilitating stronger grassroots connections within the local Japanese community and also to introduce one of our Japanese cultural trends to New Yorkers.
We've already filmed several parts of this video at various NYC landmarks with volunteers who wanted to be part of the project. We also asked different companies and organizations to film their own clips, and they all submitted interesting footage!
And now here is the sneak peek of the New York Version!!! You couldn't be part of it? No worries! In addition to these video clips, we will also be filming during Japan Day on May 11th! We look forward to having many people participate!

Japan Day @ セントラルパーク 2014では、今年の特別企画としてAKB4８の大ヒット曲「恋するフォーチュンクッキー」のニューヨーク Ver.を作成することになりました！日本では、各都道府県や市町村、また企業・団体などが、同楽曲ミュージックビデオの独自のバージョンを作成し、種々YouTubeで公開しているが話題となっています。その人気は日本を越えて、ロンドンやオーストラリア、シンガポールなどでもオリジナルビデオが作成されています。
そこでJapan Day では、ニューヨークでも、同曲を使ってALL JAPANで盛り上げ、イベントの主旨でもある日系コミュニティーの連帯強化を計ると共に、日本文化紹介のイベントとして、今、日本で話題となっている旬なエンターテイメントとして同楽曲をフューチャーしようと、このプロジェクトを実施することになりました。NY市内の観光名所にて一般有志や関係企業・団体にもご協力いただき、撮影が行われました！
